POEMS BY JON BRISTOL

THOUGHTS

If you didn’t awake to my text,
I didn’t fulfill my duty,
If I didn’t cheer you when you were vex,
Then you need to fix me.

Question:

If one of us goes,
Will the other wait?
Will the other go on or hold on because of faith,
Can life continue as usual- no difference?
And the other just left with memories and remnants,
Could they keep their sanity?
Or end up hating humanity,
Will they give up all their vanity,
Or will they wait for the other for eternity.

Answer:

Waiting for eternity will be very long,
And some might think going single waiting would be wrong,
But waiting signifies that the other one is out there,
And that your souls are together, right there,- somewhere.

WHAT IS LOVE?

Is it a mere feeling?
Is it my knees buckling?
Or a sweet stutter in my voice,
Or knowing you are my best choice.

What is this I feel?
From the top of my head to my heel,
Wondering could this be real,
Let’s kiss and seal the deal.

It’s so strange,
Something I never felt,
I’m willing to change,
And forfeit all my wealth.

For you, my heart skips,
And my eyes lust,
If you leave,
I’ll break into bits,
My heart into dust.

Watch around, what do you see,
I see nothing but you and me,
And what’s to be,
Matrimony.
